Signum Group announced today that it has recently been awarded a contract for deployment services in the roll out of an Oracle E-Business solution for USEC Inc., a leading supplier of enriched uranium fuel for commercial nuclear power plants.

Signum has delivered over 130 live sites of Oracle eAM across a wide range of asset-intensive industries and will implement the Oracle E-Business solution, including asset and inventory management and procurement, at USEC’s American Centrifuge Facility in Piketon, Ohio. The implementation will provide USEC with enhanced software systems to efficiently manage maintenance and reliability work order information, as well as supporting systems such as materials management.

Shelley Walker, VP of Professional Services at Signum, commented, “As an Oracle certified partner with a team of veteran consultants, Signum brings the expertise and knowledge that enable us to successfully manage all aspects of implementation, including the consulting, integration, and training that will provide USEC with the performance and reliability necessary to optimize their maintenance business processes.”

USEC operates the only uranium enrichment facility in the United States, located in Paducah, Kentucky. USEC is deploying a next-generation uranium enrichment technology, American Centrifuge, based on the proven U.S. centrifuge technology developed by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The American Centrifuge Plant is located in Piketon, Ohio.

“Signum’s extensive experience and commitment to quality service that comes with their SignumWay business process management approach were key factors in USEC’s decision to partner with Signum,” remarked Susanne Brackman, USEC-ACP Project Lead. “This implementation will allow us to improve our asset management programs while helping us ensure regulatory compliance.”
